The Newcastle Art Gallery Youth Advisory Group acknowledges the Awabakal and Worimi people as the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and live, and pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present and future. The Youth Advisory Group is dedicated to honouring the culture and traditions of our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through the visual arts.

Emma Wilks

Emma Wilks is an emerging artist who currently resides in the Hunter Valley. Originally from Lake Macquarie, she finds inspiration in her surroundings, past memories, and day-to-day life struggles. Her art practice allows her to find a calm, meditative place where she can reflect on herself and the world around her. Rooted in drawing, she found a love for printmaking, cyanotypes, and ceramics during her Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Newcastle which she completed in 2018.
